Customer Sales Representative

The purpose of this position inherently involves providing excellent customer care to our Ellis Crossing Animal Hospital clients. The Customer Service Representative represents the mission and values to all customers and is typically the first and last person a client encounters when entering our hospital. This dynamic role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can handle a variety of tasks with enthusiasm. The ideal candidate should be passionate about providing exceptional service to both clients and their beloved pets.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a veterinary practice or a customer-facing role in another organization
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations
  • Must have exceptional telephone and computer skills
  • Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change
  • Preferred: Previous experience using a Practice Management System
Responsibilities
  • Assume primary responsibility for answering practice phones
  • Schedule appointments for wellness, sick, and surgical visits
  • Issue invoices and process payments after appointments
  • Ensure the lobby area remains clean and organized at all times
  • Demonstrate care and empathy to both human and animal clients
  • Answer telephone calls and return emails promptly
  • Maintain excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Greet all visitors to the practice; welcome clients and patients by name as they arrive, and notify technical staff
  • Participate in training of new staff members
  • Confirm all appointments by the client’s preferred communication method (phone, email, or text) the day before, and make adjustments as needed
  • Possess a basic understanding of practice logistics to provide backup support to technical staff (e.g., loading rooms, discharging patients when primary staff are unavailable)

Animal Healthcare CoordinatorVeterinary Technician/Assistant

The purpose of this position inherently involves providing excellent veterinary care to our Ellis Crossing Animal Hospital patients. The Veterinary Technician represents the mission and values to all customers, setting the tone for the technical and customer support team. This dynamic role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can handle a variety of tasks with enthusiasm.
Requirements
  • Must have at least 1 year of previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be compassionate and sympathetic, and able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor during emotional and stressful situations
  • Must have clinical and technical skills and understanding
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret information
  • Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change
Responsibilities
  • Greet clients and patients arriving for appointments and bring them into an exam room, obtain weight and vital signs, record all in the electronic medical record, and begin documentation of the patient visit by obtaining and recording a thorough patient history
  • Assist during surgical procedures
  • Feed and care for animals
  • Maintain supplies and equipment
  • Maintain medical records
  • Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews
  • Complete laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging
  • Take vital signs and collect samples
  • Administer medications, drugs, and vaccines
  • Bandage and wrap wounds
  • Support animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments
  • Explain animal status to owners
  • Prepare surgical instruments
  • Administer/monitor local and regional anesthesia
  • Place catheters
  • Maintain sterile conditions
  • Obtain and verify medications
  • Clean animal cages and equipment
  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations
  • Enhance service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
